The calendar might say April 1st but don’t be a fool; stay home and save lives! Governor JB Prtizker extended the Illinois Stay-at-Home order for the Month of April. This also means the lakefront, parks and other public places will remain closed for the month.
We continue to ask that all of our residents practice social distancing – keeping six feet between ourselves and others at least. We should approach contact with others as if they are infected. When using the elevator, no more than one person (more if they are living together in the same unit) should use the elevator at the same time. This means we may need to take turns and wait until others have completed their trip up or down before getting in.
If you test positive for COVID 19 we ask that you contact Advantage Manager Immediately so that we can implement procedures appropriate to protect other residents. We will keep the identity of individuals confidential. Management has procedures in place to address safety and cleaning procedures should a member of your community test positive. Should Advantage receive information about any owner or tenant that tests positive, we will communicate that to you as soon as possible, and within the limits of respecting the privacy of the individual(s).
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after being in a public place, sneezing or coughing. Carry disinfectant with you if possible, as well. When you cough or sneeze, do so into the inside of your elbow. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
While we are dealing with this situation, we do ask that you continue to make regular assessment payments to keep your Association financially stable. Many of your utility bills and other reoccurring invoices are set up on automatic payment and they will still need to be paid during this crisis. Our essential staff will still be regularly checking the mail and processing checks.
Advantage has implemented virtual Open Board Meetings using Zoom Meeting to conduct business. When a meeting is scheduled you will receive the proper notice and information on how to log into the meeting. We hope this will allow the association business to remain as normal as possible.
Please remember to only flush toilet paper in your toilet. Other paper products such as napkins and paper towels are not made to break down in the plumbing system like toilet paper is. Protect your pipes and prevent issues by following this practice of only flushing toilet paper.
We will continue communicating often to keep you informed of the latest developments. As always, our plans and actions will be rooted in our mission and values as we strive to do the right thing for our colleagues, clients, and communities.
While all our offices will be operating with a small staff to process checks and invoices, we encourage you to utilize the available Advantage Management technology tools and resources. In contacting our office via telephone, you must leave a message if you do not speak directly to the person you are trying to contact. Our technology will forward messages to employee’s emails, cell phones, and private numbers so that they can receive and address your inquiry in a timely fashion.
You may also utilize our texting platform by texting from your cell phone directly to Advantage’s main office number at (312) 475-9400. Our texting software will route your text directly to your property manager. We encourage you to utilize our website at www.advantage-management.com to access documents, check balances on your account, and make payments.
We ask for your patience and understanding in this crisis. While all the items and actions mentioned above are the plans as of now, that could easily change if conditions dictate. Many of these things are out of the control of the Board, Management and the vendors/companies who provide these vital safety and quality services.
